CNC Machine Operator

Job Overview:

As a CNC (Computer Numerical Control) Machine Operator, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC machines to produce precision parts and components according to blueprints and technical specifications. This role requires attention to detail and the ability to ensure that machinery is functioning at optimal levels, producing high-quality parts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate CNC machines (e.g., mills, lathes, routers) to perform precision machining operations.
  • Interpret blueprints, drawings, and engineering specifications to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpieces.
  • Select and install appropriate tools, fixtures, and attachments required for each job.
  • Load raw materials into CNC machines and monitor the machining process.
  • Ensure precision and quality of machined parts by inspecting finished products and performing necessary measurements using tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
  • Make adjustments to machine settings to optimize performance and ensure product accuracy.
  • Perform regular maintenance on machines and troubleshoot any mechanical issues that may arise.
  • Keep accurate production records and document any issues or discrepancies.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, following safety protocols and using proper protective equipment (PPE).
  • Collaborate with engineers, supervisors, and other team members to meet production goals and deadlines.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 1-3 years of experience as a CNC Machine Operator, or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
  • Technical Skills: Knowledge of CNC programming (G-code), operation of CNC machines, and familiarity with CAD/CAM software.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of machining processes.
  • Experience using measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
  • Ability to make adjustments to CNC machines to ensure precision and quality.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs).
  • Ability to stand, walk, and bend for long periods of time.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.

Work Environment:

  • Full-time position.
  • Work in a manufacturing or machine shop setting.
  • Personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, gloves, and ear protection may be required.
