Location: Douglas, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Full-Time
Hourly Pay: $35$45, depending on experience

Make a Difference in the Lives of Students with Severe Needs in Douglas, MA
We are seeking a dedicated Severe/Profound Special Education Teacher to support students in grades 2nd through 5th. This full-time position offers the opportunity to provide specialized instruction to a small, focused caseload of students in a supportive educational environment.

Position Details
  • Caseload: 9 students in grades 2nd5th with severe or profound needs.
  • Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday, during school hours.
  • License: Massachusetts Severe Special Education license required.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to meet the unique needs of students with severe or profound disabilities.
  • Provide direct instruction in academic, functional, and social-emotional skills.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, therapists, and families to deliver comprehensive support.
  • Adapt curriculum and learning materials to support various levels of functioning.
  • Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed.
  • Foster a safe and inclusive classroom environment that promotes growth and independence.
Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in Special Education or a related field (Masters preferred).
  • Massachusetts Severe Special Education license required.
  • Experience working with students with severe or profound disabilities.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Compassionate, patient, and adaptable teaching approach.
