About the Position:
The Bridge Superintendent will oversee the construction and maintenance of bridges and related structures for heavy highway projects in Ohio and surrounding states. This role involves coordinating construction activities, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, project specifications, and quality standards, and working closely with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and crews.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and coordinate bridge construction, including scheduling, resources, and equipment.
- Oversee construction of formwork, rebar, and concrete for bridges, walls, and culverts.
- Ensure compliance with design plans, specifications, and safety regulations.
- Conduct safety inspections and enforce safety protocols.
- Manage subcontractors and guide construction crews on techniques and safety.
- Monitor project costs to stay within budget.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to meet project requirements.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience as a Bridge Superintendent or similar role.
- OSHA 30-hour construction safety certification.
- Strong knowledge of bridge construction methods and materials.
- Ability to read and interpret project plans and specifications.
- Leadership skills with experience managing construction teams.
- Familiarity with construction software like HeavyJob and HeavyBid.
