Robert Half has partnered with a growing Not for Profit organization in the SouthEast Raleigh area to assist them in hiring and experienced Finance Director. This position requires a CPA and prior supervisory experience. This role will be instrumental in leading our financial operations, encompassing areas such as finance & accounting, business planning and budgeting, human resources, and administration. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in strategic decision making, ensuring operational efficiency, robust compliance, and prudent asset management for our organization. Responsibilities:


• Prepare monthly and annual financial statements..

• Lead a small team and support the organization, including finance, business planning, budgeting, human resources, and administration.

• Oversee all financial and grant accounting.

• Lead the annual audit process, working with external auditors

• Manage the annual budgeting and planning process

• Cash flow and forecasting.

• Treasury functions

• Assist senior leadership for human resource management, ensuring consistency across the organization and legal/regulatory compliance.

• Work with senior leadership to budget and design employee benefit programs, oversee employee benefits management.


• Must hold a minimum of 10 years of experience in a finance-related role, preferably at a leadership level
• Demonstrated expertise in Financial Statement Preparation, Month End Close, and Year End Closings
• Proven experience in Annual Budget management and Variance Analysis
• Proficient in General Ledger management and Cash Flow Management
• Experience in Bank Reconciliations is required
• Must hold a CPA certification
• Previous experience in Audit - Financial, Cash Flow Forecasts, and Grant Accounting is essential
• Familiarity with Employee Benefit Program management
• Proficient in using Blackbaud and Microsoft Excel
• Strong leadership, communication, and strategic thinking skills
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with other departments and lead a team
• High ethical standards and professionalism, with a commitment to confidentiality
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field is required, a Master's degree is preferred
• Proven ability to develop and implement financial strategies and plans
• Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.
