Job Description

As an Upholstery Technician, you will be responsible for gluing, bolting, or otherwise fastening furniture components. You will rebuild, repair, or replace broken or damaged furniture parts such as legs, backrests, and support braces. Additionally, you will prepare items of furniture for upholstering by re-tying or replacing springs, repadding arm and backrests or seats. You will upholster furniture by cutting, sewing, and fitting materials of fabric, leather, or plastic, and attach fringe, tape, binding, or other trim materials.

Responsibilities
  • Fasten or re-fasten furniture components using glue, bolts, or other methods.
  • Rebuild, repair, or replace broken or damaged furniture parts such as legs, backrests, and support braces.
  • Prepare furniture for upholstering by re-tying or replacing springs and repadding arm and backrests or seats.
  • Upholster furniture by cutting, sewing, and fitting materials of fabric, leather, or plastic.
  • Attach fringe, tape, binding, or other trim materials using glue, tacks, or staples.
  • Operate a double needle sewing machine for cushion/upholstery manufacturing.
Essential Skills
  • 2-3 years of experience in sewing or upholstery.
  • 2+ years of experience operating a sewing machine.
  • Attention to detail.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience with double needle sewing machines.
  • Inspection skills.
