Summary: Seeking Systems Communications Payload Engineers with expertise in telecommunications satellite payloads for design, analysis, and testing.

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum BS degree

  • Ability to pass drug and background checks (ITAR compliance)

  • 10 years minimum experience in telecommunications satellite payloads

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with Direct Radiating Array (DRA) Antenna with multiple active elements

  • Knowledge of digital signal processing

  • Understanding of DVB-S2X and DVB-RCS2 air interface standards

  • Experience with Digital MODEM, Digital Channelizer, and Digital Beam Forming

  • Proficiency in Network Switching protocols (Ethernet, MPLS) for non-terrestrial applications

  • Familiarity with Payload AI&T activities and test methods

  • RF Communication System modelling and simulation experience

  • Knowledge of digital communication interfaces such as Spacewire, CANBus

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide RF and Electrical System design, system performance analysis, implementation, and testing for telecommunication advanced payloads

  • Design payload architecture and analyze RF system performance during the payload lifecycle including bids, requirement definitions, project implementation, testing phases, along with R&D activities

  • Lead payload design activities and participate in electrical and RF system performance evaluation

  • Write engineering documents including system requirements, SOC, verification/validation matrixes, design descriptions, systems budgets, equipment specifications, test requirements

  • Perform system worst case analysis; support program reviews (EQSR, SRR, PDR, CDR)

  • Participate in Payload assembly Integration and Test; attend test reviews (TRR, TRB, DRB)

  • Support Satellite tests at S/C supplier premises as needed; support In-Orbit Test (IOT)

  • Conduct technical monitoring of major subcontractors; write up Payload Operations Manual

 

 

 Pay: 50-80

Pay Details: $40.00 to $70.00 per hour
