Start Date: December 2, 2024
Duration: 13-week assignment
Shift: Day shift (Start time: 8:00 AM or 9:00 AM, 5x8-hour shifts, no weekends)Key Responsibilities:
  • Process, prepare, and dispense prescriptions through the pharmacy system, including adjudication of claims to third-party insurance plans.
  • Ensure proper documentation and record retention for medication orders, accurately selecting the correct drug, dosage form, strength, and quantity.
  • Perform drug utilization reviews (DUR) to assess medication appropriateness, duplicate therapy, side effects, drug interactions, etc.
  • Maintain active munication with patients, prescribers, pharmacy team members, and healthcare providers regarding prescription processing and patient benefit eligibility.
  • Provide excellent customer service to patients and staff, assisting with pharmacy operational needs, inventory control, and safety protocols.
  • Administer injectables and vaccines as applicable.
  • Monitor patient profiles and ensure the accurate dispensing of medications according to guidelines and state/federal regulations.
  • Ensure the security of the pharmacy while on duty and follow all health system policies, state, and federal laws.
  • Assume pharmacy management responsibilities in the absence of the pharmacy manager.
Qualifications:
  • PA Pharmacist License in good standing required.
  • Minimum 2 years of prior experience working in health plan/PBM settings, with a strong background in benefit eligibility and claims processing.
  • Excellent munication skills with the ability to manage phone inquiries and provide clear, timely information to patients, healthcare providers, and pharmacy staff.
  • Prior experience in managed care/PBM settings highly desired. We will consider retail pharmacists with 1-2 years of recent experience in a similar role, provided they demonstrate strong munication skills and a solid understanding of health plans/PBM processes.
  • Ability to perform physical/working requirements within a pharmacy/delivery area.
