Assistant Controller

OVERVIEW:Â Â Reporting directly to the Controller, the Assistant Controller oversees the preparation and distribution of financial statements, ensures compliance with U.S. GAAP and internal controls, and collaborates with external auditors. This role is pivotal in streamlining accounting processes, enhancing reporting systems, and mentoring accounting staff.Â
  JOB DUTIES: Â
- Manage the month-end close process and produce monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for the company and subsidiaries.Â
- Act as the primary liaison with external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits.Â
- Research and implement accounting policies for reporting and disclosure; issue accounting memoranda for significant transactions.Â
- Direct activities related to fixed assets, leases, debt, and goods receipt/invoice receipt accounting.Â
- Continuously enhance financial processes using Oracle and other tools, reducing manual efforts and automating reports.Â
- Mentor and develop team members, fostering growth within FP&A, AP, and AR functions.Â
- Oversee benefit plan accounting and ensure annual audited financial statements for employee benefit plans are accurate.Â
- Support the Controller on inventory and payroll accounting and lead various financial initiatives.Â
- Bachelorâ?s or Masterâ?s in Accounting; CPA certification required.Â
- 15+ years of accounting and financial reporting experience, ideally with public companies and SOX exposure.Â
- Expertise in U.S. GAAP and technical accounting.Â
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, and large ERP systems.Â
- Exceptional communication and organizational abilities.Â
- Leadership experience with a passion for mentoring and project management.Â
- Ability to handle high-pressure situations and interface with all management levels.Â
- Strong analytical and interpretation skills for technical procedures and legal documents.Â
