Job DescriptionJob Description

We are in search of an Accounting Clerk to join our team based near Tuscaloosa, AL. This role offers a contract to hire employment opportunity, where you will play a critical role in managing our financial records, including processing payments, maintaining accounts payable, and completing other accounting tasks as needed.


Responsibilities


• Handle accounts payable, ensuring timely and accurate payment processing

• Communicate with vendors as necessary

• Provide support in payroll processing and data entry tasks

• Order materials as needed and perform filing tasks for proper record keeping

• Serve as a backup receptionist, handling calls and taking payments over the phone when required

• Use QuickBooks Desktop and Excel for financial data management and reporting

• Perform customer service duties, addressing and resolving customer inquiries

• Assist in maintaining accurate customer credit records.

• Possess a solid understanding of accounting principles

• Proficient in Account Reconciliation

• Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Demonstrable skills in Billing

• Must be adept at Data Entry

• Experience in Invoice Processing is a must

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required

• Knowledge of QuickBooks is preferred

• Experience in Payroll management

• Excellent Customer Service skills are essential

• Prior experience in the construction or contractor industry is a plus

• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively

• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Must possess a high level of integrity and confidentiality.
