We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for an Accounting Clerk in the construction industry, located in Cottondale, Alabama. As an Accounting Clerk, you will be in charge of various accounting and administrative tasks, such as handling accounts payable, maintaining vendor communication, tracking permits, and providing backup receptionist support.
Responsibilities:
• Efficiently process accounts payable on a weekly and monthly basis.
• Maintain regular communication with vendors to ensure smooth operations.
• Assist in tracking permits and electrical accounting plans using strategic and detailed methods.
• Occasionally handle payroll, data entry, and material ordering tasks.
• Take on filing duties and other administrative tasks as needed.
• Serve as a backup receptionist, handling around 15 calls a day and taking payments over the phone.
• Utilize software tools such as QuickBooks Desktop and Excel for various tasks.
• Maintain a positive attitude and adaptability in a team-oriented environment.
• Use strong computer skills to accomplish tasks efficiently and accurately.
• Provide excellent customer service, handling customer inquiries and processing applications.
• Possess strong knowledge in Account Reconciliation• Proficient in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) management
• Experience in Billing and Invoice Processing is essential
• Able to perform efficient Data Entry tasks
• Proficient in using Microsoft Excel for financial computations and data analysis
• Experience in using QuickBooks for accounting tasks is mandatory
• Have a background in managing Payroll tasks
• Excellent Customer Service skills for dealing with client inquiries and concerns
• Construction or Contractor industry experience is preferred
• Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Detail-oriented with ability to multitask and meet deadlines
• High level of integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information.
