Job Description:
Are you ready to make a difference in the lives of K-12 students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing? We are looking for a Remote DHHT who can provide exceptional online instruction, ensuring each student receives the personalized support they need to succeed in their virtual learning environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Assess students hearing and functional needs through virtual evaluations.

  • Collaborate with IEP teams to design customized education plans that address each students specific goals.

  • Provide engaging lessons that focus on improving communication, academic skills, and self-reliance.

  • Work closely with school staff and families to ensure that students receive the necessary accommodations.

  • Track student progress and update IEPs as needed to reflect their development.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Deaf Education or a related field from an accredited institution.

  • Certification: Valid state certification as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHHT).

  • Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience working with students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing. Remote teaching experience is a big plus

  • Skills: Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and a deep understanding of assistive technology to support hearing-impaired students.

  • Communication: Stellar communication and interpersonal skills, with a talent for engaging students and collaborating with school teams remotely.

  • Tech-Savvy: Confidence in using tele-education platforms and digital tools for remote instruction.
