Project Manager, IT Specialist/LIMS

Position Overview:
The Project Manager, IT Specialist LIMS will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful execution of IT projects related to Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS), Regulatory Information Management Systems (RIMS), and biostatistics analysis systems. This role reports directly to the Director of Research Project Management and involves developing and maintaining comprehensive project plans that align with corporate goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Coordination: Direct and manage multiple IT projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
- Alignment with Objectives: Ensure all projects are aligned with business objectives, laboratory workflows, and IT strategies.
- Progress Tracking: Monitor project progress, manage risks, and implement adjustments as needed to meet timelines and quality standards.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with IT, Laboratory Operations, R&D, and external partners to define project scopes and establish clear timelines for milestones.
- Risk Management: Identify and communicate project risks; develop and monitor mitigation plans to ensure successful execution.
- Financial Accountability: Maintain budget accountability for projects, managing change controls effectively.
- Communication and Reporting: Create and present status reports, dashboards, and other communications to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment.
- Vendor Management: Serve as the main contact for vendors, facilitating effective communication between internal teams and external partners.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Life Sciences, or a related field; PMP or other project management certification is a plus.
- Experience: 3+ years in project management within biotech, pharmaceutical, or life sciences industries, with a focus on IT projects in lab environments.
- Software Development Knowledge: Experience managing software development projects, particularly LIMS or Electronic Lab Notebooks (ELN), is required.
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to motivate teams and maintain a collaborative work environment.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong skills in MS Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word) and project management tools like MS Project or Smartsheet.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong organizational and interpersonal capabilities.
- Adaptability: Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
