We are excited to welcome a motivated and skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team and support the growth and development of students in our school district.

Role Summary:
We are seeking a School-Based Occupational Therapist who is passionate about making a difference in students' lives. The ideal candidate will deliver specialized occupational therapy services to support the needs of students with various learning and developmental challenges, working closely with educators, parents, and other professionals to promote each student's success.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assessment: Conduct in-depth evaluations to understand students' abilities, needs, and areas for improvement. Develop individualized education plans (IEPs) and treatment strategies based on these assessments.
  • Therapeutic Services: Provide targeted occupational therapy, including exercises, adaptive techniques, and activities to build motor skills, sensory processing, and daily living abilities. Customize interventions to support students academic and developmental progress.
  • Collaboration: Coordinate with teachers, special education teams, and families to integrate occupational therapy strategies into classroom settings. Participate in IEP meetings to contribute valuable insights for student support.
  • Documentation: Keep accurate and up-to-date records of each students progress, therapy plans, and sessions. Prepare detailed reports for IEP reviews and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Professional Growth: Stay informed about the latest trends and best practices in occupational therapy and special education. Engage in continuous learning and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Masters degree in Occupational Therapy from a recognized institution.
  • License: Active Occupational Therapist license in the state.
  • Experience: Prior experience in school settings or with children facing diverse needs is preferred. Familiarity with IEP development is a plus.
  • Skills: Comprehensive knowledge of occupational therapy techniques and best practices. Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
