Job Description:
ProCare Therapy is seeking a certified Special Education Teacher for the 2024-2025 school year in Waynesville, MO. This full-time, onsite position at East Elementary involves managing a caseload of around 30 students. Responsibilities include developing and implementing IEPs, providing direct instruction and support, collaborating with staff, monitoring student progress, maintaining accurate records, and communicating with parents. The ideal candidate will foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment and engage in ongoing professional development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with special needs.
- Provide direct instruction and support to students in various settings.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, and support staff to ensure student success.
- Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting instruction as needed to meet individual needs.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with district, state, and federal regulations.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians, providing regular updates on student progress.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and stay current with best practices in special education.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field.
- Valid Missouri SPED License.
- Experience working with elementary school students with special needs.
- Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
- Commitment to professional growth and continuous improvement.
