Job Description:
ProCare Therapy is seeking a certified Special Education Teacher for the 2024-2025 school year in Waynesville, MO. This full-time role involves working onsite at East Elementary with a caseload of approximately 30 students. The ideal candidate will be committed to supporting students with special needs, developing and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs), and collaborating with other educators and staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment. This role requires a commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive classroom environment and participating in ongoing professional development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with special needs.
- Provide direct instruction and support to students in various settings.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, and support staff to ensure student success.
- Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting instruction as needed to meet individual needs.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with district, state, and federal regulations.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians, providing regular updates on student progress.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and stay current with best practices in special education.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field.
- Valid Missouri SPED License.
- Experience working with elementary school students with special needs.
- Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
- Commitment to professional growth and continuous improvement.
