Job Description
Operators will handle various tasks within the warehouse to ensure customer orders are filled and dispatched promptly. Responsibilities include general cleaning of the plant, washing hoses, and disposing of drums. The role primarily involves handling liquid chemicals used for water treatment, although mixing solid and liquid chemicals may be a future responsibility.
Responsibilities- Take direction from the shift manager to fill customer orders by filling totes or drums with liquid chemicals.
- Stage filled orders at the dock and load trucks upon arrival.
- Clean hoses, tidy the warehouse, and clean drums as needed.
- Use electronic pallet jack and sit-down forklift to move finished totes or palletized drums, staging them in labeled rows.
- Accurately fill out paperwork, including process conditions, test results, instrument readings, and shipping paperwork.
- Spend significant time washing out used totes, disposing of used totes, and cleaning trashed drums, especially initially to clear backlog.
- Experience on sit-down forklift or at least 6 months of relevant experience.
- Experience in a manufacturing or production job or another labor-intensive role.
- Customer focus and attention to detail.
- Willingness and ability to work outside as needed.
- Ability to wear steel-toed shoes.
- Ability to take direct feedback on work performance and processes.
- Willingness to work with chemicals and follow safety procedures.
- Willingness to shave beard to fit into a respirator as needed.
- Chemical manufacturing experience is a plus.
- Experience with mixing or blending chemicals is advantageous.
- No GED or formal education required.

Work EnvironmentShifts: 1st shift (4am-12pm), Mid Shift (8am-4pm), 2nd shift (12pm-8pm, occasionally until 8:30pm). Employees often work additional hours to ensure the job is completed. PPE required includes bump cap, safety glasses, gloves, respirator in some areas, and a chemical suit which adds 10-15 degrees of heat. The warehouse is temperature-controlled to an extent but can still be hot in the summer. Main chemicals handled include phosphates, sodium hypo, caustic soda, and various coagulants.
