Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Utilities Electrical Engineer to join our team. This role is responsible for designing, installing, integrating, and commissioning Industrial Control Systems (ICS) for water treatment and distribution and wastewater treatment and collection systems. The successful candidate will bring expertise in electrical, instrumentation, and control systems to ensure secure, reliable, and efficient operations. This position collaborates with various departments to integrate ICS with existing systems, develops Human Machine Interface (HMI) and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems, and provides technical support and troubleshooting for system improvements.

Key Responsibilities
ICS Design and Commissioning:
Design, program, and commission SCADA-based automated control systems.
Develop and modify HMI/SCADA systems, including graphics, tag database generation, report development, and configuration.
Review and write code for Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), SCADA, and HMI applications.
Process and System Improvement:
Identify, test, and implement process control improvements with stakeholders.
Provide technical expertise during design, construction, and startup phases of capital projects.
Technical Support and Troubleshooting:
Support plant control systems, instrumentation, motor control equipment, power distribution, UV systems, and SCADA.
Assist operations staff with hardware and software issues and provide training as needed.
Documentation and CAD:
Prepare and maintain electrical drawings and technical documentation using CAD software.
Generate reports and maintain system documentation to ensure operational guidelines and controls.
Equipment Commissioning and Procurement:
Commission new equipment and assist in training for plant operations and maintenance staff.
Participate in procurement of goods and services and perform related administrative duties.
Security and Data Integrity:
Establish operational controls to ensure security, data integrity, and recovery.
Maintain and update servers, storage equipment, network devices, and associated utility software.

Qualifications
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution.
Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience (preferably with position-related software).
Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.

Licenses and Certifications:
Valid driver’s license required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Proficient with Modicon PLCs, AutomationDirect PLCs, Wonderware software, and Ignition software.
Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
Ability to work in industrial environments around chemicals, solvents, and dust.
Capability to obtain a city driving permit if required.

Physical Demands
Ability to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds occasionally and apply up to 30 pounds of force frequently.
Frequent activities include standing, walking, crouching, climbing, crawling, and handling equipment.
Requires visual and auditory acuity for inspections and communication.

Work Environment
Industrial environment with exposure to chemicals, solvents, and dust.
Requires availability to respond to emergencies after hours.
