JOB DESCRIPTION:
The ideal candidate for this fast-paced, high-volume clinic is efficient, patient, and compassionate. Must be experienced in working with both children and adults, well-organized, and able to perform patient studies, dosing, and daily quality controls for cameras and the hot lab. Since there is no generator on-site, the clinic receives unit doses from an outside pharmacy, making efficiency a key trait.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Perform brain SPECT scans and related quality assurance procedures.
  • Prepare and administer patient doses, including IV preparation.
  • Process and print scan images by the end of the workday.
  • Administer testing protocols and maintain the Odyssey hard drive.
  • Keep accurate logbooks and perform daily quality control on cameras.
  • Handle all hot lab duties, including constancy tests, surveys, and wipe tests.
  • Order isotopes, manage medical supplies inventory, and maintain required documentation.
  • Conduct semi-annual sealed source leak tests, quarterly dose calibrator linearity tests, and annual calibrator accuracy tests.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Current Nuclear Medicine Technologist License (state-specific).
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with large patient volumes.
  • Skilled in working with challenging patients and communicating technical information to the public.
  • Strong time management, organizational, and independent work abilities, as well as team collaboration.
  • Empathy, emotional stability, and excellent communication skills, with a focus on patient care.
  • Familiarity with brain imaging and Picker Prism 3000 system is a plus.

Physical Demands:

  • Frequent typing, computer screen use, and sitting for long periods.
  • Frequent use of hands and fingers with equipment (e.g., computer, copier, fax, scanner, phone).
  • Frequent hearing, listening, and speaking by phone and in person.
  • Occasional standing, walking, reaching, stooping, or bending.
  • Occasional lifting of objects up to 15 lbs., multiple times per day.
