Paraprofessional

Location: Burlington, CT

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist teachers in implementing instructional activities and managing classroom dynamics.
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students, including those with special educational needs.
  • Help in the development and execution of individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior plans.
  • Monitor and document students' progress and behavior, providing feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Support students with daily activities and transitions, ensuring their engagement and participation in the classroom.
  • Maintain a positive and inclusive atmosphere that encourages students' academic and social growth.
  • Assist with classroom setup, preparation of instructional materials, and other administrative tasks as needed.
  • Foster effective communication between students, parents, and educational staff.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associates degree or higher preferred.
  • Previous experience working with children, especially in an educational or special needs setting, is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, students, and families.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine commitment to supporting students' success.
  • Ability to adapt to various learning styles and needs.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with educational technology.
