Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Shipping and Receiving Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the flow of materials in and out of the shop, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all shipping and receiving processes.

Responsibilities

• Gather, inspect, package, address, and ship materials.
• Palletize, box, and measure incoming and outgoing products.
• Manage material flow for inbound and outbound shipments depending on the area (shipping or receiving).
• Read and interpret tape measurements accurately.
• Operate forklifts and handle materials safely and efficiently.
• Use RF scanning for inventory control and order fulfillment.
• Pick, pack, stage, and fulfill orders.
• Maintain inventory control and reconcile inventory levels.
• Assist with other tasks as needed, such as operating saws, burn tables, and grinding equipment.
• Keep the warehouse clean and orderly.

Work Environment

The work environment is a steel shop with shipping and receiving areas. The position is for the 3rd shift, Monday to Friday, from 11pm to 7:30am. Steel-toed boots are required, and candidates must be comfortable working in a machine shop setting. The workplace emphasizes safety and cleanliness.

Job Type & Location

This is a 4-month contract-to-hire position based out of Hixson, TN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00
