Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Industrial Assembler to join our team. You will be responsible for disassembly, cleaning, requalification, rework, and assembly operations on Traction Motor Combo components using both manual and automated equipment. Your work will be inspected for compliance with internal criteria and engineering requirements. You will also ensure safe work practices in support of lean manufacturing principles such as 5S and single-piece flow.

Responsibilities
  • Disassemble, clean, requalify, rework, and assemble Traction Motor Combo components.
  • Utilize manual and automated equipment in accordance with quality procedures.
  • Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with internal inspection criteria and quality or engineering requirements.
  • Perform work safely and support lean manufacturing principles such as 5S or single-piece flow.
  • Undergo special process training or certification for tasks such as welding or non-destructive testing when required.
Essential Skills
  • Experience in assembly and mechanical assembly.
  • Knowledge of industrial assembly, schematic reading, and heavy industry operations.
  • Ability to handle heavy labor and operate heavy equipment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience with train axels and wheels assembly.
  • Mechanical experience is highly desirable.
  • Overhead crane experience is a bonus but not mandatory.
  • Ability to get certified in crane operation within the first 30 days.

Work Environment

This is a heavy assembly position involving the disassembly and remanufacture of train axels and wheels. You will work in an industrial setting with crane-assisted operations, which will be a significant part of the job. The role requires adherence to safety protocols and lean manufacturing principles. The dress code includes wearing steel toe boots and prescription safety glasses, which are provided annually.

This is a Permanent position near the MCI Airport.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45760.00 - $47840.00
