Job Title:  Development Coordinator

Type of Role: (Contract)

Expected Length of Contract: Dependent on business needs

Shift / Hours: Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm 

Location: Salinas, CA

Hourly Range: $23 – $26/Hour 

The Development Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the fundraising and development initiatives. This position serves as the primary staff member responsible for entering CRM data. Additionally, this role will provide comprehensive support for all fundraising efforts

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Manage the entry of donor-related pledges/gifts, ensuring they are allocated properly and completely.
  • Share specific donor-related details pertaining to giving history, personal interests, or donor trends to ensure staff are fully equipped to steward properly
  • Issue acknowledgment correspondence to thank donors and provide correct tax deductions.
  • Run statistical reports based on campaign/event for team members to evaluate and plan a strategy for future donor stewardship.
  • Assist the Finance department in reconciling donor contributions.
  • Initiates and follows through on donor-related contributions, ensuring they are appropriately allocated, tracked, and reconciled.
  • Help set up ticketing and registration for events.
  • Recruit, train, and lead volunteers for event registration, ensuring they are well-equipped to handle ticketing operations effectively and address any issues during events.
  • Track and analyze ticket sales data, providing regular updates to stakeholders, and prepare post-event reports with strategic insights for future improvements.
  • Support marketing
  • Complete annual re-certification requirement for online portals for donor-advised funds, i.e., Benevity.
  • Respond to the needs of Fundraising and Development Team Members.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills and Experience:

  • Independently perform tasks and duties.
  • Proven experience in event registration, and ticketing.
  • Strong organizational skills with an ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with different teams.
  • Maintain positive relationships with diverse personalities.
  • Maintain a safe and productive work environment.
  • Connect with people over the phone and face to face.
  • Work nights and weekends given specific events and deadlines that directly impact campaign/event outcome.

Training and experience:

Any combination of educational training and experience that would provide the required knowledge and abilities qualifies. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and skills would be:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 1 year’s relevant experience.
  • Associate degree and 2 years relevant experience.
  • High School Diploma and 4 years of relevant experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and donor management software

Working conditions:

Typically, the Development and Fundraising Coordinator would work in an office environment, but you may also need to travel to attend meetings, events, and donor visits. Additionally, the Interim Development and Fundraising Coordinator may need to spend time communicating with donors and supporters and collaborating with colleagues and volunteers. Overall, the working conditions would involve office-based tasks, off-site visits, and interaction with various stakeholders.
