ParaprofessionalJob Description:

  1. Assisting Professionals: Collaborate with teachers, therapists, healthcare professionals, or other professionals to support individuals with diverse needs. This may involve providing one-on-one assistance, facilitating group activities, or implementing specialized interventions.

  2. Student/Client Support: Offer academic, behavioral, or emotional support to students or clients under the guidance of licensed professionals. This may include tutoring, behavior management, or providing personal care assistance as needed.

  3. Instructional Support: Assist in the implementation of lesson plans, educational activities, or therapy sessions. This may involve preparing materials, facilitating learning experiences, or providing feedback to professionals on student/client progress.

  4. Data Collection and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of student/client progress, behavior, or other relevant data. Assist professionals in collecting data, monitoring outcomes, and preparing reports to track individual progress or program effectiveness.

  5. Personal Care Assistance: Provide assistance with personal hygiene, mobility, feeding, or other activities of daily living for individuals with disabilities, medical conditions, or special needs. Ensure the safety, dignity, and well-being of students/clients at all times.

  6. Communication and Collaboration: Communicate effectively with professionals, parents, caregivers, and other stakeholders to ensure continuity of care and support for students/clients. Collaborate with team members to develop and implement individualized plans and strategies.

  7. Professional Development: Participate in training sessions, workshops, or other professional development activities to enhance skills and knowledge in relevant areas. Stay informed about best practices, policies, and regulations related to the field of work.

  8. Compliance and Ethical Standards: Adhere to all applicable laws, regulations, and ethical standards governing the profession. Maintain confidentiality, respect individual rights, and promote a culture of inclusion and diversity.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelors degree in education, psychology, social work, or related field preferred.
  • Previous experience working with individuals with disabilities, special needs, or diverse populations preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, empathy, and patience.
  • Ability to follow instructions, work independently, and adapt to changing needs and priorities.
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills and record keeping.
  • CPR/First Aid certification may be required (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
  • Clear background check and fingerprinting required.

Interview Process:

  • 10-15 minute screening call with a ProCare Therapy Recruiter
  • 20-30 minute Virtual Interview with the School District
  • Offer is typically within 24-48 hours of the virtual interview

As a ProCare employee, you will be paid on a weekly basis through direct deposit. Your hourly rate will be dependent upon your experience and education.
