About the Position: We are seeking a qualified Transportation Specialist to join our team at Cecil County Public Schools. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing safe and efficient transportation services to students, staff, and community members.
Job Summary: As a Transportation Specialist, you will be the driving force behind ensuring the smooth operation of our bus fleet. You will be responsible for safely transporting students to and from school, as well as participating in extracurricular activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate a school bus to transport students, staff, and community members
- Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and reliability
- Maintain accurate records of student ridership, attendance, and disciplinary actions
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to resolve any issues or concerns
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in education or related field preferred
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a passenger endorsement
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility to work varied schedules, including evenings and weekends
