Job DescriptionJob Description

Robert Half Legal is seeking a seasoned Real Estate Development Manager to spearhead our client's expansion strategy throughout Massachusetts and Connecticut. This role requires a strategic thinker with a proven track record in identifying and pursuing prime real estate opportunities. You will play a pivotal role in negotiating deals, building strong relationships with key stakeholders, and overseeing the management of our existing real estate portfolio. Must live in western, MA and available to go into the office daily, NO HYBRID.


Responsibilities:

  • Expansion Strategy: Direct and implement Big Y's real estate expansion strategy by identifying, evaluating, and securing potential locations.
  • Site Acquisition: Negotiate favorable terms with landowners, developers, and brokers to acquire suitable sites for new stores and other developments.
  • Portfolio Management: Oversee the management and leasing of company-owned shopping centers and related properties.
  • Relationship Building: Cultivate and maintain a robust network of real estate contacts, including brokers, developers, retailers, and landowners.
  • Legal and Administrative: Manage real estate administrative functions, including reviewing legal documents, tenant billing, and lease administration.
  • Government Relations: Represent Big Y before government agencies and trade groups, advocating for the company's interests.
  • Market Research: Analyze market data and demographic trends to identify growth opportunities and inform decision-making.

Requirements:

  • 5-10 years of experience in real estate development, preferably in the retail industry.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of real estate laws and regulations.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with Massachusetts and Connecticut real estate markets.
  • A collaborative and supportive approach to work.
