Special Education Teacher (Case Management) | Michigan
Virtual Teaching Position for the 2024-2025 School Year
Overview:
VocoVision is seeking a dedicated and experienced Special Education Teacher for Case Management in Michigan for the 2024-2025 school year. This role offers 30-40 hours per week, starting heavily to establish case management processes before tapering down. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide Specialized Instruction: Develop and implement tailored lessons and interventions for students aged 14-18, focusing on those with IEPs and unique educational needs.
- Case Management: Oversee the IEP process for approximately 38 students with IEPs, ensuring all documents are current and that students receive appropriate support, while managing a fluctuating caseload.
- Conduct Evaluations: Facilitate initial evaluations for 3 additional students needing IEP assessments, ensuring compliance with IDEA regulations.
- Collaborate with the Education Team: Work independently and confidently with a team of educators, advocates, and foster parents to ensure a cohesive approach to student education, maintaining clear communication and collaboration.
- Trauma-Informed Practices: Utilize trauma-informed pedagogy to create a supportive learning environment for a transient population of students who have experienced significant challenges.
Job Qualifications:
- Active Michigan Special Education licensure
- Experience working with at-risk students, particularly those in foster care
- Familiarity with PowerSchool and TIENet for IEP writing
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a school setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and manage a diverse caseload
Pay & Benefits:

- Virtual Interview: A 20-30 minute interview with the school district
