Job Title: Speech-Language PathologistJob Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team. The SLP will work with students in a school setting, providing speech, language, and communication support. The ideal candidate will have a passion for helping students achieve their full potential and be skilled in evaluating, diagnosing, and treating speech and language disorders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate and diagnose speech, language, and communication disorders in students.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on students needs.
  • Provide direct therapy services to students in individual or group settings.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support student progress.
  • Monitor and document student progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary.
  • Participate in IEP (Individualized Education Program) meetings and contribute to goal-setting for students.
  • Provide training and resources to teachers and parents to support students communication needs.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all evaluations, therapy sessions, and progress reports.
  • Stay current with best practices and advancements in speech-language pathology.
Required Qualifications:
  • Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Valid Indiana state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) preferred.
  • Indiana Department of Education certification to work in schools (Indiana Professional Educators License in Communication Disorders).
  • Completion of required Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for maintaining licensure and certification.
  • Previous experience working with children in a school setting is preferred but not required.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to ethical guidelines.
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with a variety of communication disorders, including speech sound disorders, language delays, fluency, and social communication.
  • Familiarity with augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices and strategies.
  • Ability to use data to drive decision-making and therapy adjustments.
  • Bilingual skills are a plus.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to sit, stand, and move throughout the school environment.
  • Capable of lifting and carrying light equipment or materials as needed.
