Lab Assistant

Description:

Assist with various laboratory tasks including preparing samples, creating solutions, and maintaining a clean and organized lab environment. Support the team by ensuring accurate data recording and adhering to safety protocols.

- Mix water, detergents, and/or acids in containers to create cleaning solutions as specified.

- Wash, rinse, dry, and sterilize glassware and instruments.

- Scrub walls, floors, shelves, tables, and sinks.

- Fill tubes and bottles with specified solutions and label them accordingly.

- Arrange specimens and samples on trays for placement in incubators and refrigerators.

- Deliver supplies and lab specimens to designated areas.

- Maintain inventory reports and logs.

- Prepare and maintain bacteriological media and chemical solutions, ensuring proper labeling, handling, storage, use, and disposal, including autoclaved and hazardous waste.

- Use a grinder or other equipment to homogenize, extract, or otherwise prepare samples for analytical testing.

- Weigh samples and record values in logs.

Qualifications:

- High school diploma or GED;

- Lab experience preferred but NOT required

Shift:

- Have to be open to working 2nd shift (3-11pm) and overnights (11pm-7am) as well as weekends
