Job Description:
We are seeking a full-time Special Education Teacher in Jefferson, ME, to support students with emotional and behavioral needs in a team-oriented environment. The teacher will work with students who split their time between general education and special education classrooms, collaborating closely with educational technicians who assist in all settings to ensure consistent support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach and support students with emotional and behavioral needs in both special education and general education environments.
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student's unique needs.
  • Collaborate with a team of educational technicians and other support staff to ensure student success across all settings.
  • Monitor and document student progress, adapting strategies as necessary to support academic and social-emotional development.
  • Participate in IEP meetings and maintain communication with families and other team members.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Maine Teacher Certificate with a 282 Endorsement (required).
  • Experience working with students with emotional and behavioral needs (preferred).
  • Strong collaboration and classroom management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-focused environment.
