Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Social Worker to join our team in Kalamazoo, MI. This full-time role involves providing support and services to students and families, helping them navigate social, emotional, and behavioral challenges. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with school staff, parents, and community resources to create a supportive and effective environment for student success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and group counseling to students dealing with social, emotional, or behavioral issues.
  • Conduct assessments to identify students needs and develop intervention plans.
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and other school staff to address students needs and provide integrated support.
  • Work with families to offer guidance, resources, and support for their childs development and well-being.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and behavioral intervention plans (BIPs).
  • Connect students and families with community resources and services as needed.
  • Participate in crisis intervention and provide support during emergencies.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of student interactions, assessments, and progress.
  • Stay current with best practices in social work and contribute to the professional development of the school community.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Social Work or a related field.
  • Michigan State Licensure as a Social Worker (LMSW or LLMSW preferred).
  • Previous experience in a school setting or working with children and families is preferred.
  • Strong counseling, assessment, and intervention skills.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of students, families, and colleagues.
  • Commitment to supporting students social and emotional development.
