We are assisting a disability support organization based in Walnut Creek in their search for a paralegal. This person should have experience working with California DDS and network of FMS and have knowledge of disabilities law. This is a part-time remote primary project with instances of traveling to a local city for some in-person work.


Responsibilities:

• Handle comprehensive legal research to aid in preparing cases and staying abreast of developments in disability law

• Actively represent clients in various disability law cases and related legal proceedings

• Draft an array of legal documents such as contracts, appeals, briefs, and legal opinions, ensuring their accuracy in regard to applicable laws and regulations

• Provide expert consultation, advice, and education to clients about their legal rights

• Collaborate effectively with a team of legal professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for clients

• Utilize Adobe Acrobat and Case Management Software for efficient claim administration

• Strive to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction through excellent service

• Possession of a minimum of 3 years of experience in a Paralegal role

• Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of Disability Law

• Familiar with Regional Centers of California, particularly with the Self Determination Program

• Proven skills in Claim Administration

• Experience with the network of FMS(Financial Management Services) that manage disability payments

• Experience preparing inquiry into billing discrepancies and internal audting
