We are looking for an Accounting Supervisor to join our client's team in the service industry. In this role, you will be supervising daily accounting activities and staff, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of accounting processes, and acting as a resource in troubleshooting complex issues.


Responsibilities:


• Supervise daily activities in the assigned accounting area including accruals, journal entries, general ledger coding maintenance, and reconciliations.

• Provide training and support to the team to ensure quality performance and customer satisfaction.

• Analyze accounting processes and issues, making recommendations for improvements in processes and transactional workflow.

• Conduct final reviews of accounting transactions to ensure compliance with company established policies and procedures.

• Act as a liaison between the company and auditors, assisting in year-end activities and preparing audit schedules as needed.

• Maintain current knowledge of legal regulations, industry trends, and best accounting practices; make recommendations to improve current programs and processes.

• Reconcile or review reconciliations of general ledger accounts.

• Prepare reports and analysis on accounts for period close meetings and provide a summary of issues that may impact the close process.

• Assist with ensuring internal controls exist and are adhered to in order to maintain financial security.

• Develop and monitor department goals, manage staffing, training, performance management, and career development of associates.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role or in the field of accounting

• Proficiency in accruals, journal entries, and account reconciliation

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to supervise, train, and mentor team members

• Detail-oriented and able to work with a high level of accuracy

• Excellent organizational and time management skills, able to prioritize tasks efficiently

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines

• Strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity
