We are in search of an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our clients team, in the healthcare industry, specifically within hospitals and social assistance. This role offers a short-term contract employment opportunity - about 3 months+. As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you will be tasked with maintaining accurate customer records, processing customer applications, and resolving customer inquiries.


Review and Verify Invoices: Carefully check invoices for accuracy, matching them with purchase orders and receiving reports to ensure all details are correct before processing.

Process Outstanding Invoices: Enter and process a backlog of invoices into the accounting system, ensuring timely and accurate recording of financial data.

Reconcile Vendor Statements: Compare vendor statements with company records to identify and resolve discrepancies, ensuring all outstanding invoices are accounted for and processed.

Manage Payment Deadlines: Prioritize overdue invoices to meet payment deadlines, avoiding late fees and maintaining good relationships with vendors.

Coordinate with Vendors and Internal Departments: Communicate with vendors and internal departments to resolve issues related to missing or incorrect invoices, and confirm details to facilitate prompt payment.

Prepare and Process Payments: Prepare checks, electronic payments, or other forms of payment as needed, ensuring all transactions are processed accurately and on time.

Update and Maintain AP Records: Keep meticulous records of all transactions, including invoices, payments, and correspondence, to ensure the accounts payable ledger is accurate and up-to-date.

Assist with Month-End Closing: Support the month-end closing process by ensuring all invoices and payments are recorded, reconciled, and reported accurately.

Support AP Automation Efforts: Help identify opportunities for process improvements and support the implementation of automation tools to streamline AP processing.

Adhere to Policies and Procedures: Follow company policies and accounting guidelines to maintain compliance with regulatory requirements and internal controls.

• Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) operations

• Familiarity with Annual Financial Reporting

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work

• Excellent organizational skills

• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to multitask and meet strict deadlines

• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
