We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to join our team in Moriarty, NM. The Special Education Teacher will work with students who have a variety of learning disabilities and special needs, developing and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs) to support academic growth and social development. This is a great opportunity for educators passionate about making a difference in the lives of students with diverse learning needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.
  • Provide direct instruction to students with disabilities, adapting lessons to meet individual learning needs.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers and other staff to support inclusive education.
  • Monitor and document student progress, adjusting teaching strategies as needed.
  • Maintain clear and accurate records of student performance and communicate progress to parents and guardians.
  • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of goals and assessments.
  • Support students in both academic and social-emotional areas, fostering a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Provide behavioral support and interventions as needed.
  • Actively participate in professional development and school meetings.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Special Education or related field (Master's Degree preferred).
  • Current state licensure as a Special Education Teacher or ability to obtain licensure.
  • Previous experience working with students with disabilities in an educational setting is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of IEP development, modifications, and accommodations.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Passion for supporting students with special needs and helping them reach their full potential.
