Roles & Responsibilities:
· A Mechanical Design Engineer with 6-9 years of experience is responsible for leading the design and development of complex mechanical systems and components. The role requires an individual who has a strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and can apply this knowledge to real-world design problems. The engineer will lead cross-functional teams and be involved in all aspects of the design process from concept development to product launch.
· Lead the design and development of mechanical systems and components to meet customer requirements.
• Use CAD (NX) software to create detailed drawings and specifications.
• Conduct feasibility studies, trade studies, and prototyping activities.
• Analyze and evaluate designs for strength, durability, and performance.
• Lead cross-functional teams such as manufacturing, quality control, and suppliers.
• Support production, testing, and validation of prototypes and final products.
• Continuously improve design processes and methodologies.
• Stay current with industry standards and regulations.
• Mentor and train junior engineers.
Required Skills (Technical Competency):
· Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 6-9 years of experience in mechanical design engineering.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and mechanical design.
• Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, NX, or ProE.
• Experience with finite element analysis (FEA) and computational fluid dynamics (CFD).
• Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Good organizational and time management skills.
Work Experience
· Design experience with nonconforming hardware in the Aerospace domain
· Bachelor’s degree in mechanical with 6-9 years of relevant design experience
· Able to work well with others and help direct team members with providing Engineering solutions
Physical Requirements & Work Environment:
· Mostly Office Environments, Occasional Shop Floor involvement.
· Substantial amounts of telephone and computer work.
· Heavily Regulated Industries with strict adherence to procedures.
· Flexibility to meet business deadlines by staying late or arriving early.
· Typical 8 hour days plus lunch / 40 hour weeks / core (required) hours are 9AM to 4PM
· Ability to use personal transportation to visit customer locations.
