Mechanical Design Engineer

Roles & Responsibilities:
A Mechanical Design Engineer with 3-6 years of experience is responsible for leading the design and development of complex mechanical systems and components. The role requires an individual who has a strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and can apply this knowledge to real-world design problems. The engineer will lead cross-functional teams and be involved in all aspects of the design process from concept development to product launch.
- Lead the design and development of mechanical systems and components to meet customer requirements.
- Use CAD software to create detailed drawings and specifications.
- Conduct feasibility studies, trade studies, and prototyping activities.
- Analyze and evaluate designs for strength, durability, and performance.
- Lead cross-functional teams such as manufacturing, quality control, and suppliers.
- Support production, testing, and validation of prototypes and final products.
- Continuously improve design processes and methodologies.
- Stay current with industry standards and regulations.
- Mentor and train junior engineers.
Required Skills (Technical Competency):
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- 3-6 years of experience in mechanical design engineering.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and mechanical design.
- Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or ProE.
- Experience with finite element analysis (FEA) and computational fluid dynamics (CFD).
- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Good organizational and time management skills.

- Physical Requirements & Work Environment:
- Mostly Office Environments, Occasional Shop Floor involvement.
- Substantial amounts of telephone and computer work.
- Heavily Regulated Industries with strict adherence to procedures.
- Flexibility to meet business deadlines by staying late or arriving early.
- Typical 8 hour days plus lunch / 40 hour weeks / core (required) hours are 9AM to 4PM
- Ability to use personal transportation to visit customer locations.
