Quality Engineer

Reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager, manage MTM’s Quality Management System for product quality and process control. Lead efforts to continuously improve product yields and reduce complaints and returns.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Manage the Quality Management System for product quality and process.
• Lead efforts to continuously improve product yields, as well as reduce customer complaints and returns.
• Adhere to ISO 9001 requirements including document control.
• Communicate with supplier and customer quality organizations via email, phone, conference calls and travel as necessary.
• Field and respond to customer complaints.
• Manage customer specifications and associated documentation.
• Manage the internal quality system (NMRs, etc) for customer product.
• Manage record and sample retention requirements.
• Participate or facilitate corrective action teams to identify and implement improvements and permanent corrective actions.
• Create and/or manage work instructions and documentation.
• Prepare reports and presentations in support of customer, manufacturing or vendor issues.
• Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering in one of the Physical Sciences. Metallurgy preferred.
• Minimum of 3+ years of experience within a Quality Department.
• Experience with the production floor application of statistical process control methods.
• Familiar with ASTM Standards and ISO 9001 requirements
• Good project management skills with ability to manage time & set priorities
• Good computer skills including use of Microsoft Office.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Familiarity with PPAPs, Control plans, FMEAs, capability studies, GR&R, Minitab Software.
• Previous GMP experience preferred.
