Schedule: Monday-Friday, 37.5 hours per week
Role Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our high school team in Glenwood Springs, CO. This position involves managing a mild to moderate caseload, providing specialized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students on the caseload.
- Provide differentiated instruction in various subjects, tailored to students' needs and abilities.
- Collaborate with general education teachers to support inclusion and ensure accommodations are in place.
- Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting instructional strategies as needed.
- Communicate regularly with parents, guardians, and other stakeholders about student progress and needs.
- Participate in team meetings, professional development, and school activities.
Qualifications:
- Valid Colorado Special Education teaching license or eligibility for licensure.
- Experience with high school students and mild/moderate disabilities preferred.
- Strong organizational skills, adaptability, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
