Job Summary: The Senior Accountant will play a key role in developing and coordinating financial policies and activities to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting. This position involves overseeing financial processes, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and contributing to the overall financial strategy of the organization.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance of general ledger accounts, including journal entries, accruals and adjustments.
  • Participate in month-end and year-end closing processes ensuring timely and accurate completion of all accounting activities.
  • Perform account reconciliations on multiple balance sheet accounts to identify and resolve discrepancies and ensure accurate financial results.
  • Drive process improvement through identification of gaps and inefficiencies in current processes and provide recommendations for more efficient outcomes.
  • Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances and areas for improvement and provide insights and recommendations to management.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, HR and management to support the initiatives of the business.
  • Provide audit support through preparation of documentation and schedules to support the external audit and address audit inquiries.
  • Analyze manufacturing costs and review estimated costs with actual results for print and production jobs.
  • Identify and investigate variances to help management understand cost drivers and improve cost control measures.
  • Assist in the annual budgeting process.
  • Evaluate and recommend improvements to costing systems to ensure accuracy and relevance of cost data.
  • Other duties as assigned or identified in the accounting department.
Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; CPA certification a plus.
  • Minimum of three years of Accounting experience required.
  • Experience with cost accounting in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; Word, Excel and Outlook and PowerPoint. Paylocity experience a plus.
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting guidance and best practices.
  • Strong communications skills, must have effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain trust and relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • High level of professionalism with capacity to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Organizational and Analytical Skills; Detail-oriented with robust organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to manage multiple tasks, priorities, and projects.
  • Comfortable with changing processes and procedures.
  • Collaborative team player with a focus on contributing positively to group efforts.
  • Ability to identify areas and issues for improvement and recommend effective solutions.
