Integrity Trade Services is hiring an EHS Coordinator for our automotive client to start immediately at $60k/annually Receive comprehensive benefits through our client upon hire
Responsibilities:
- Maintain policies, procedures, and programs related to environmental, health and safety (EHS) practices and requirements.
- Ensure all federal, state and local EHS laws and regulations, codes and plant safety rules are observed.
- Ensure all EHS recordkeeping and reporting requirements are met.
- Coordinate and facilitate meetings of the Joint EHS Committee.
- Participate in ergonomic assessments and recommend improvements.
- Facilitate the resolution and timely response to EHS action plans.
- Oversee the administration of Workers’ Compensation (WC) programs and procedures and WC claims associated litigation. Monitor all open WC issues with appropriate tracking, recordkeeping and appropriate action plans to mitigate loss to the company.
- Maintain written programs and procedures in accordance with ISO14001, OHSAS 18001, and corporate EHS and ergonomics requirements.
- Serve as the ISO 14001 Environmental Management Representative.
- Administer and coordinate all environmental related items and permits as required to comply with federal, state, and local regulations. Generate compliance reports as required. Update documents to remain current with the latest requirements and legislation.
- Coordinate inspections with corporate, federal, state, and local agencies when necessary.
- Provide input in the development stages of current as well as pending processes entering into the facility.
- Train employees on all necessary EHS programs, policies, and procedures. Conduct new hire orientation for EHS. Ensure training is documented.
- Coordinate with the plant in conducting EHS incident investigations and analysis. Writes or supervises the preparation of detailed EHS incident reports and required regulatory filings.
- Coordinate all hazardous and non-hazardous waste storage, handling, and disposal.
- Provide statistics for continual improvement in the workplace in regards to EHS.
- Ensure external and internal complaints related to EHS are recorded appropriately and reported to management.
- Coordinate emergency response procedures, training, and practice drills.
- Conduct routine workplace safety inspections and job hazard analysis for continual improvement and to reduce workplace incidents and injuries.
- Coordinate post incident drug and alcohol screens as necessary.
- Participate in and conduct environmental compliance and conformance audits.
- Ensure the proper selection of EHS supplies including PPE.
- Document all activities as required.
- Adhere to all company guidelines for Emergency Evacuation to ensure employee safety.
- Any additional responsibility deemed necessary by management.
Location: Louisville, KY
Schedule/Shift Details:
Please expect overtime, as needed.
Qualifications:
- A degree in safety, ergonomics, industrial hygiene or related degree is preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of Workers’ Compensation.
- Experience in working with ISO 14001.
- Knowledge of industrial ergonomics.
- Ability to communicate to all levels of the organization.
- Knowledge of OSHA (and/or state) standards. CSA standards for Canadian operations.
- Must have excellent verbal and communication skills.
- Must have proficient computer knowledge in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Up to 10% travel required
- Valid driver’s license required
- Position may be required to travel to locations in the US and Canada, passport or enhanced license will be required
