As an Accounts Payable Specialist you will be responsible for overseeing and handling the financial transactions within the company's accounts payable department. This role is vital in ensuring that payments to vendors, suppliers, and service providers are processed accurately and promptly. You will collaborate closely with the accounting team to maintain precise financial records and support the organization's overall financial stability. This is a Contract to Hire position, Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and review a high volume of incoming invoices from vendors and suppliers.

  • Ensure that invoices are accurate, properly authorized, and adhere to company policies.

  • Input invoice data into the accounting system for payment processing.

  • Prepare and schedule payments to vendors using various methods (checks, ACH, wire transfers, etc.).

  • Maintain payment records and reconcile them with the general ledger.

  • Communicate with vendors and suppliers to resolve any invoice discrepancies, payment issues, and inquiries.

  • Build and maintain positive relationships with key vendors.

  • Process employee expense reports, ensuring all receipts and documentation are complete and comply with company policies.

  • Keep organized and accurate records of all accounts payable transactions.

  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes by providing necessary reports and documentation.

  • Generate accounts payable reports and help analyze data to identify trends and potential cost-saving opportunities.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and accounting standards.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework in accounting or a related field is preferred.

  • 3-5+ years of experience in accounts payable or a similar financial role.

  • Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with vendors.

Pay Details: $22.00 to $25.50 per hour
