Full-Time Audiologist
Location: Marion, NC
Employment Type: Full-Time Contract

Blazer Jobs is actively interviewing for a school-based Audiologist position in Marion, North Carolina. This full-time contract role is designed for an experienced audiologist passionate about supporting students with hearing impairments and other auditory-related challenges. The ideal candidate will have experience working in school settings, particularly with special education students and families.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive audiological evaluations and hearing screenings for students to identify hearing impairments or auditory processing disorders.
  • Collaborate with special education teams, speech-language pathologists, teachers, and families to create and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) and ensure that students with hearing challenges receive appropriate accommodations and support.
  • Fit, maintain, and troubleshoot hearing aids, FM systems, cochlear implants, and other assistive listening devices for students.
  • Provide auditory training and counseling to students and families on hearing loss management and communication strategies.
  • Monitor and assess students' progress in auditory skills and adapt interventions as needed.
  • Assist in creating a hearing-friendly learning environment by working with staff to adjust classroom acoustics and reduce noise.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of all audiological services and ensure compliance with local and state regulations regarding special education and audiology services.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, including IEP meetings, to contribute to student support plans.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working as an audiologist in a school or educational setting, with a preference for experience with special education students.
  • Expertise in fitting and maintaining hearing aids, FM systems, and other assistive technologies.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with students, families, and educational staff.
  • Knowledge of North Carolina's state regulations and guidelines for audiology services in schools.
  • Certification and licensure as required by North Carolina state regulations for Audiologists.
