Job Description

We produce rotary and flat dies that cut cardboard, similar to large cookie cutters. We provide these dies to various corrugating companies. As a machine operator, you will be operating machinery that bends and cuts blades, loading and unloading large rotary cassettes, and selecting programs on a touchscreen to process the blades. Team lifts are required for moving the dies.

Responsibilities
  • Operate a machine that bends and cuts blades.
  • Load and unload large rotary cassettes.
  • Use a touchscreen to select the proper program for bending and cutting blades.
  • Place all processed blades in bins with work orders.
  • Follow written and visual instructions.
  • Use hand and power tools for assembly.
  • Lift 50-80lbs as needed.
  • Perform hammering tasks throughout the day.
Essential Skills
  • Experience with assembly, hand and power tools, and machine operation.
  • Ability to lift 50-80lbs.
  • Hand dexterity and basic math skills.
  • Experience with work orders and using hand tools.
  • Ability to follow written and visual instructions (1 year preferred).
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Must be able to lift up to 70lbs.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Friendliness and willingness to learn.
  • Previous experience working in a team environment is beneficial.
  • Any previous construction, woodworking, or assembly experience is advantageous.
  • Comfortable working with computers.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English.

Work Environment

We are a mid-sized, family-owned company with a team-oriented environment. We host several employee appreciation events each year, including an ice fishing tournament with supplies, food, and prizes. We also bring in food and special coffee on certain days. On the floor, you may experience smells like glue and sawdust, and occasional use of solvents and chemicals like WD-40. Masks are available if desired. The position involves standing all day with anti-fatigue mats provided. The dress code includes typical manufacturing work clothes such as jeans or pants, t-shirts or sweatshirts, and closed-toe shoes. The shift is from 12pm to 8:30pm, Monday to Friday, with occasional overtime at the end of the shift.
