Staff Accountant

A high-growth financial services firm in Downtown Los Angeles is looking for a Staff Accountant to join their team This position will be involved with/not limted to the following duties;
Responsibilities:
- Assist with the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Perform reconciliations of bank accounts, credit card statements, and other financial accounts.
- Prepare and post journal entries for various transactions, ensuring accuracy and adherence to accounting principles.
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice processing and collections.
- Conduct variance analysis and assist in identifying areas for improvement or cost-saving opportunities.
- Assist in the preparation of tax returns and other regulatory filings.
- Support the month-end and year-end close processes.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely and accurate completion of tasks and projects.
- Stay updated on relevant accounting standards, regulations, and best practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in accounting or finance roles.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or similar).
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- CPA or progress toward CPA certification is a plus.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
