CLERICAL WORKER JOB I.D. #70275

DESCRIPTION
This person will perform a variety of routine clerical duties including information to the public and assistance.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED
General supervision from Director of Regional Housing Choice Voucher and/or department supervisor.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Types, and proofreads reports, forms, and letters. Updates and maintains records and files.
  • Receives, sorts, and distributes incoming mail.
  • Operates a photocopier, computer, and other office equipment.
  • Answers the telephone, screens and forward calls or takes and forwards messages as required.
  • Sorts and files document and records and maintains alphabetical, index, and cross-reference files.

 

NON/ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Enter data and information into a computer.

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and one year of responsible clerical experience.
Knowledge of:

  • Modern office procedures, methods, and computer equipment.
  • Principles and procedures of record keeping.
  • English usage, spelling, grammar, and punctuation.

Ability to:

  • Perform routine clerical work with speed and accuracy.
  • Understand and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.


LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organizations.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Work authorization:

  • United States (Required)

Work Hours: Monday – Friday 8:30 am – 5:00 pm

Pay Rate: $18.00 per hour.

Pay Frequency: Weekly

- Locations: Patterson, CA. & Empire, CA.

- 40 Hours Per Week
