We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Controller in TONAWANDA, New York. The Controller will be instrumental in guiding the financial decisions of our organization by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures. You will be involved in various aspects of the company's financial operations, from managing accounting operations such as accounts payable and receivable and bank reconciliations, to conducting internal audits and preparing forecasts.


Responsibilities:


• Oversee the operations of the Accounting Department including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and payroll.

• Lead the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements.

• Work closely with external accountants to ensure timely filing of annual tax returns and quarterly estimates.

• Collaborate with lenders to secure financing for improvement projects.

• Work closely with ownership and general managers to achieve sales goals and monitor operating costs.

• File sales tax and excise tax returns.

• Maintain and revise internal policies and processes to create operational efficiencies.

• Oversee the management of personal finances for ownership.

• Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures and implement a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk.

• Recommend benchmarks for measuring the company’s performance.

• Provide financial analysis with emphasis on capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations.

• Work with external auditors and provide necessary information for the annual audit.

• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements

• Possess a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a Controller role or similar position.

• Demonstrated proficiency in financial statement preparation.

• Proven experience in annual budget planning and execution.

• Exceptional financial acumen and ability to analyze financial data.

• Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide and mentor a team.

• Excellent communication skills to effectively convey financial information to non-financial stakeholders.

• Proficiency in financial software and MS Office Suite, particularly advanced Excel skills.

• Familiarity with financial regulations and standards.

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; Master’s degree or CPA certification is preferred.

• Strong organizational and time management skills.

• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks concurrently.

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make sound decisions based on data analysis.
