Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Maintenance Mechanic III to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, performing preventive maintenance, reading and interpreting technical manuals, and using advanced tools to maintain equipment efficiency.

Pay

$33.00 - $38.00 per hour

Responsibilities

  • Reports To Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Responsible for troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance on a wide variety of equipment, facility, fixtures, and systems.
  • Ensure projects and assigned jobs are being carried out.
  • Minimize production downtime through quick repairs and correction.
  • Contact third-party assistance when needed from vendors or Equipment mfg.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance inspections and perform required preventive maintenance (lubrication, cleaning, filter change, etc.).
  • Coordinate facilities maintenance (repairing and treating structures such as floors, sinks, walls, and roofs) with other Mechanics.
  • Keep the maintenance shop in a clean and orderly manner. Accountable for the security of all tools, supplies, and parts stored in the shop.
  • Report activities, the status of repairs, and equipment malfunctions to the Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Follow lockout/tag-out safety procedures during services and repair.
  • Use personal protective equipment as required.
  • Duties as assigned by the maintenance supervisor.
  • Train and guide new Maintenance Personnel or as needed.
  • Other Duties as assigned.
  • Directs and tracks contractor needs, and activities as directed by Supervisor.

Minimum Requirements

  • Proficiency in working with Industrial equipment (conveyors, pump and motors, industrial mixer, industrial fryer and oven, packaging equipment, HPP, Filling Machines, etc.)
  • Tig Welding certification is a plus but not required.
  • Ability to run new electrical circuits and move existing runs to a different location.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills in automation controls.
  • Ability to troubleshoot PLCs.
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, Internet, etc.)
  • Utilizes computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) to track all work.
  • Complying with the GMP policies of the company to ensure food safety is one of the essential functions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Ability to multi-task and be flexible, willing to work overtime on occasion, and be asked to work swing or graveyard shift
  • Collaborative and team-oriented with great communication skills.
  • Requires recurring lifting up to 35 pounds.
  • Proficiency in electrical troubleshooting and repair.
  • Spanish is a plus but not required.
  • Must work effectively and efficiently with limited or no supervision.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to read and accurately use calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, and other precision measuring tools.
  • DMV Driver’s License Class C
  • Must be able to understand and use Safety Data Sheet, and preventive maintenance documentation.
  • Must be able to supply own hand tools.
  • The ability to interpret basic blueprints and schematics is required
