Billing Analyst

Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Billing Specialist to oversee service and commercial billing processes. This role will work directly with service managers to identify billing issues, prevent potential problems, and ensure the accurate and timely billing of services provided. Additionally, the Billing Specialist will play a key role in training new technicians on proper billing practices, including using mobile tech apps for invoicing, processing credit card payments, and depositing checks while on-site with customers. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and have a positive attitude that reflects the company's values and mission.

Key Responsibilities:

• Service and Commercial Billing:
• Manage all service and commercial billing tasks, ensuring timely and accurate invoicing for both service calls and larger commercial projects.
• Work closely with service managers to review work orders and identify billing discrepancies or potential issues before they arise.
• Collaboration with Service Managers:
• Act as the main point of contact for service managers regarding billing questions, concerns, and disputes.
• Proactively address and resolve billing issues, working to head off potential problems that could delay or complicate invoicing.
• Technician Training and Support:
• Train new technicians on how to effectively use the mobile tech app for billing purposes, ensuring they understand how to generate accurate invoices while in the field.
• Provide guidance on proper procedures for taking credit card payments and depositing checks during customer visits.
• Customer Payments:
• Ensure that technicians are properly trained to accept payments in the field, including credit card transactions and checks, and follow up on outstanding payments as needed.
• Positive Company Representation:
• Demonstrate a positive, professional image of the company in all interactions with customers, technicians, and internal teams.
• Continuous Improvement:
• Assist in streamlining and improving billing processes, collaborating with the finance team to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
• Stay up-to-date with best practices for billing in the service and construction industries.

Experience:

• 2-5 years of billing experience (preferred).
• Experience in billing through Great Plains is a HUGE plus.
• Prior experience in the construction industry is also a HUGE plus.

Skills & Abilities:

• Strong multi-tasking abilities in a fast-paced work environment.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
• Attention to detail and accuracy in all billing-related tasks.
• Ability to work independently as a self-starter and manage tasks effectively.
• Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
• Ability to communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing.
