Building Student Resilience: School Social Worker - Soliant Education (St. Leonard, MD Area)

Are you a passionate and dedicated School Social Worker seeking a rewarding opportunity to empower students by providing social-emotional support and promoting positive school experiences?

Soliant Education is seeking a qualified School Social Worker to join our team in the friendly St. Leonard, MD area This full-time, in-person position for the 2024-2025 school year offers a unique chance to make a significant impact on the lives of students by providing prehensive social-emotional support in a nurturing and inclusive environment.

What You'll Do:

  • Conduct individual and group counseling sessions tailored to the specific needs of students, addressing social-emotional challenges, academic difficulties, and barriers to learning. (Specific age range will be discussed in detail during the interview process)
  • Develop and implement interventions to promote positive social-emotional development, conflict resolution skills, and coping strategies.
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, parents, and other professionals to create a supportive school environment that fosters student well-being and academic success.
  • Provide crisis intervention and support to students experiencing difficult personal or social situations.
  • Conduct classroom presentations and workshops to promote social-emotional learning (SEL) curriculum and student wellness initiatives.
  • Connect students and families with munity resources to address social determinants of health and ensure access to necessary support services.
  • Advocate for students' social-emotional needs and promote a culture of inclusion and understanding within the school munity.
  • Monitor student progress, analyze data, and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions to ensure continuous improvement in student well-being.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current on best practices in school social work for the specific student population you will be serving.

Qualifications:

  • Maryland State School Social Worker Certification.
  • Prior experience working with students in a school setting is highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of child and/or adolescent development (specific age range will be discussed in detail during the interview process) and social-emotional learning (SEL) principles.
  • Expertise in individual and group counseling techniques tailored to address challenges faced by students.
  • Excellent munication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with students, parents, teachers, administrators, and other school staff.
  • Proficiency in data analysis, report writing, and maintaining student confidentiality according to ethical guidelines.
  • A passion for promoting student well-being and advocating for students with diverse social-emotional needs.
