Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Inventory Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing inventory, performing daily picking activities, and ensuring smooth shipping and receiving processes. You will work closely with other departments to provide inventory support and maintain accurate records.

Responsibilities
  • Perform daily picking activities.
  • Prepare documents for and perform daily Shipping and Receiving processes.
  • Generate cycle counts and maintain needed supplies.
  • Assist with preparing daily workload and verifying all daily activities have been completed.
  • Research and resolve discrepancies in inventory.
  • Utilize computers for inventory tracking and be proficient in all required software with little training.
  • Evaluate all freight for accuracy and prepare discrepancy reports in case of damage.
  • Receive, unpack, and deliver goods; re-stock items as necessary and label shelves.
  • Record purchases and maintain the database.
  • Accurately package, label, and weigh items to be shipped, ensuring proper shipment methods and charges.
  • Assemble containers and crates, pack goods to be shipped, and prepare identifying information and shipping instructions.
  • Monitor inventory issues and ensure effective resolution.
  • Coordinate with other departments to provide inventory support.
  • Ensure all documentation related to inventory flows is complete, accurate, and filed correctly.
  • Identify and address gaps in inventory processes.
  • Manage inventory filing systems.
  • Perform routine clerical duties, including data entry, answering emails, and assisting customers.
  • Prepare and reconcile all cycle count processes and perform complete inventory checks of all stock and supplies.
Essential Skills
  • Proficiency in SAP and other inventory management software.
  • Computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Experience in shipping and receiving, stockroom, material handling, and production.
  • Ability to use RF scanners and RF scan guns.
  • Strong data entry skills.
  • Solid writing, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Extreme attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and manage multiple priorities and projects.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Any warehouse experience is preferred.
  • Ability to perform physical counts and recounts, reporting all discrepancies to supervision.
  • Experience in packaging, labeling, and weighing items for shipment.
  • Experience in managing inventory filing systems and ensuring documentation accuracy.

Work Environment

The work environment includes a large machining and assembly shop, engineering and parts/repair operations onsite. The schedule is from 8:15 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturday overtime. The possibility to convert to a permanent position is available.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of NORTH CHESTERFIELD, Virginia.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00
